Tomorrow Starts the Big Weekend
Tomorrow is the first day of the weekend Easter Portrait Fundraiser. Hancock County High School's Prom Committee is hosting the event to raise funds for . . . of course, Prom. Come out and help support the school, sessions are only $10 and they are guaranteed 100% - if you don't love them you get your money back. All orders will be available for pickup in 1 week and you can see your images in a private web gallery even sooner than that; no need to worry about having them in time for Easter.

Sometimes Wind Happens
Umbrellas are good for blocking rain and catching wind. Unfortunately when you use them in photography you don't want them to get wet or catch wind. While doing a location session the wind came through catching one of my umbrellas and crashing it, my new PocketWizard radio slave, and Flash into the concrete. It was a good thing that I had my backup equipment with me - the show must go on.
Everyone remember the Easter Mini Fundraiser for the HCHS Junior Prom. We will be set up all weekend on March 16, 17, and 18 in the High School Cafeteria.

Previews from a busy Sunday
Enjoying this Spring like Winter weather. It has been warm enough and pretty enough to do location sessions the past few weeks. Here are previews from 4 Portrait Sessions from today, February 5.

Baby Kylar
The many faces of Baby Kylar. This was a portrait session for his 5 Month Pictures. You can see a lot of different expressions from babies this age. As you can tell, Kylar started off happy - as long as I didn't touch him - but as the photo shoot went on, he just got tired of me all together.

Busy Weekend
Working Saturday night up into the morning hours of Sunday editing images and getting ready for 4 sessions tomorrow. Pictures are available for viewing, downloading and purchasing from last night's game. Hancock Indians at Cosby, both Indians teams lost, but both were good games.

Weather
I was afraid when I got home last night that hours and days of work that I've put into moving rocks and re-routing our branch would be washed out by the rain. They've withstood the gushing water so far - and not flooded the rest of the area.
Hopefully it will last, I've been starting bulbs and seeds inside so that everything will be ready as soon as spring rolls around. I have several things planned for outdoor children and family portraits. I am also working on a setup in our barn for children and seniors. Old metal barrels, old barn wood, old everything.
The studio is being planned. I have talked to several people about pooring footers, floors, and what to build it out of. I'm still hoping to have it up by Summer. I will be posting images of the finished backgrounds as they are ready.

New Backgrounds Coming soon
I have been working outside doing some pre-landscapingand and ordering new props and decorations for Easter and Spring Pictures. Hopefully this new outdoor portrait area will be part of a small garden that has several different unique and pretty portrait spots.
More mini-session events are scheduled for 2012: Easter mini's in March (indoor and outdoor); Gone Fishing in June (outdoor); Fall theme "Hay Day" in September (indoor/outdoor); and Christmas Mini's scheduled throughout December.
ALSO in the works is a full service studio. Which I hope will be up and running by mid-summer.
Just a reminder, all gift certificates are 20% off through January 31. Instantly save 20% on family sessions, baby's first year packages, senior portraits, and mini-sessions.
